DESCRIPTION:This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to using th
e FAO WaPOR open data and the WAPlugin in QGIS for monitoring and analyzin
g agricultural water productivity. Participants will learn how to download
relevant WaPOR datasets and compute key water productivity indicators to
support sustainable agricultural practices.\n\nBy the end of this workshop
\, you are able to:\n\n* describe WaPOR datasets and their significance in
monitoring water productivity and efficiency in agriculture.\n* use the W
aPLUGIN to directly download relevant datasets for agricultural analysis.\
ncompute various indicators such as Uniformity of Water Consumption\, Bene
ficial Fraction\, Adequacy\, and more using the seasonal maps and the WaPL
UGIN Indicators Calculator.\n* create a visually appealing map in QGIS.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed to help you master the use of mesh da
ta within QGIS. The workshop materials will be available in English and Du
tch.\n\nMesh data is a type of unstructured grid that represents spatial s
tructures in either 2D or 3D space\, often incorporating temporal and othe
r components. Its versatility makes it ideal for applications in fields su
 ch as meteorology\, hydrodynamics\, and environmental modeling.\n\nThrough
out the workshop\, you'll explore topics such as visualizing and animating
mesh data\, working with NetCDF data formats in QGIS\, and styling flow d
irection using arrows. The tutorials and resources provided aim to equip l
earners with practical skills for effectively handling mesh data.

DESCRIPTION:Dune slacks are low-lying depressions within dune ecosystems th
at exhibit unique microclimates\, forming cold air pools during nighttime.
This nocturnal cooling varies between slacks due to differences in their
geomorphological characteristics\, influencing local biodiversity and the
broader ecosystem.\n\nThis study focuses on the automated detection of dun
e slacks using freely available geospatial data in QGIS. A dynamic thresho
lding parameter will be developed to accurately delineate dune slacks base
d different attributes. Following detection\, each slack will be indexed a
nd ranked according to geomorphological parameters to indicate their relat
ive thermal behavior—ranging from coldest to warmest.\n\nThe methodology
will integrate LiDAR-derived Digital Terrain Models (DTMs)\, in-situ temp
erature measurements\, and other open-source spatial datasets. This approa
ch not only streamlines the identification of dune slacks but also lays th
e groundwork for informed conservation strategies and deeper ecological in
 sights into climate-sensitive dune environments.

In detail we
koming in eerdere versteningskaarten.
n plek verhard\, half-verhard\, open grond of struik is.
