OpenPlains Inc. is an open-source geospatial modeling platform designed to equip communities with tools for a climate-resilient future. This talk highlights the challenges and successes of transitioning OpenPlains from academic research to a corporation.
During this session, I will share my journey over the past year as a first-time founder. Through this story, I aim to uncover some of the unknowns for aspiring FOSS4G founders and spark a broader conversation about a company's role within its open-source ecosystem.
