DESCRIPTION:MOLUSCE (Modules for Land Use Change Simulations) is an open-so
 urce land cover change analysis module for QGIS\, developed by NextGIS wit
 h support from Asia Air Survey. Initially presented at FOSS4G 2013 in Nott
 ingham\, MOLUSCE has resumed active development after a long period of ina
 ctivity. The module now supports the latest QGIS versions and introduces p
 owerful new mechanics. The latest enhancement allows users to apply differ
 ent versions of environmental factors for historical and prediction period
 s\, expanding its application for climate change-related land cover dynami
 cs analysis.\n\nIn this workshop\, we will conduct and discuss the complet
 e updated MOLUSCE workflow\, including data preparation\, simulation proce
 sses\, and validation\, with a focus on the new mechanics that account for
  the dynamics of environmental factors.\n\nPreparation will include hypoth
 esis formulation\, focusing on which factors affect land cover dynamics\, 
 and adjusting vector layers such as road network and populated places\, as
  well as raster layers like elevation and climate data\, from different so
 urces using built-in QGIS tools. During the simulation\, we will take a de
 tailed look at the available models and their settings.\n\nParticipants ar
 e only required to have the latest stable version of QGIS installed on the
 ir laptops.
