DESCRIPTION:We\, GSI\, are distributing the web map data "GSI Tiles" as ope
n data and are also releasing the web map site "GSI Maps" using FOSS as op
en source under the open policy in order to make our national geospatial i
nformation available to as many people as possible. \nIn this effort\, whi
le we have so far continued to provide a stable supply of map tiles in ima
ge format mainly\, we are also interested in promoting map tiles that can
be flexibly used at a lower cost. To this end\, in recent years\, we have
released vector tiles on a test basis and tried building a scheme from pro
duction to consumption of vector tiles with the use of FOSS.
