Asst. Prof. (Dr.) Md. Omar Sarif

Dr. Md Omar Sarif is working as an Assistant Professor (Special Appointment) at CEPEAS, The IDEC Institute, Hiroshima University, Japan, since April 2025. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, India (July 2022-December 2024). His research focuses on GIS and Remote Sensing Engineering, with particular interests in City Climate Modelling, LULC Mapping and Simulation.

Dr. Sarif earned his Ph.D. in Engineering (GIS & Remote Sensing) in May 2022 from N.I.T. Allahabad, India.

Dr. Sarif is serving as an Associate Editor for Environmental Informatics and Remote Sensing in 'Frontiers in Environmental Science' journal.

The framework is built upon a three tier [data tier, service tier and client tier] thin client server architecture with live demonstration of prototype web GIS.
