DESCRIPTION:This talk presents the current state of [MovingPandas](http://m
ovingpandas.org) and related movement data analysis tools. MovingPandas ha
s been growing steadily since its first publication in 2018 (with more tha
n 24 contributors to date). Building on GeoPandas and GeoViews\, MovingPan
das provides movement data analysis tools that support efficient explorato
ry data analysis through interactive (visual) analysis. Early functionalit
y and demos were focused on dealing with GPS tracking data (including vehi
cle and animal tracks). This talk presents recent developments towards sup
porting other track data\, including examples from sports tracking (moveme
nt in real space\, extracted from video footage) and eye or mouse tracking
(movement in virtual space). Among many other details\, this includes sup
port for local coordinate systems\, integration of context beyond geograph
ic base maps\, as well as trajectory generalization\, segmentation\, and d
istance measures. Finally\, we revisit the origins of MovingPandas: the QG
IS plugin Trajectools\; and review the steps necessary to bring MovingPand
as' trajectory analysis tools to QGIS.
