DESCRIPTION:Exploitation platforms offer a cloud-based virtual work environ
 ment where expert users can access data\, develop algorithms\, conduct ana
 lysis close to the data and share their value-adding outcomes. We now have
  a complementary ecosystem of platforms\, data sources and cloud services.
  To fully exploit the potential of these complementary resources we antici
 pate the need to encourage interoperation amongst the platforms\, such tha
 t users of one platform may consume the services of another directly platf
 orm-to-platform.\n\nThe goal of the EO Exploitation Platform Common Archit
 ecture (EOEPCA) project is to define and agree a re-usable exploitation pl
 atform architecture by identifying a set of common building blocks that pr
 ovide their services through open interfaces (e.g. OGC)\, to encourage int
 eroperation and federation within this Network of Resources. We are also d
 eveloping an open source Reference Implementation\, to validate and refine
  the architecture\, and to provide an implementation to the community.\n\n
 The Reference Implementation comprises a set of open source components tha
 t are available on GitHub\, and provided with helm charts for Kubernetes d
 eployment. The components can be used together as an integrated platform\,
  or individually for specific capabilities - which include:\n\n* Applicati
 on Deployment and Execution Service (ADES) - processing engine for executi
 on of user defined applications via OGC API Processes interface\n* Process
 or Development Environment (PDE) - integrated web tooling to develop\, tes
 t and package apps for ADES execution\n* Resource Catalogue - metadata cat
 alogue for data/applications which provides OGC CSW\, API Records\, STAC a
 nd OpenSearch interfaces\n* Data Access - standards-based access to both p
 latform and user-owned data (OGC WCS\, WMS\, WMTS)\n* Workspace - centrali
 ses the user’s management of owned resources through personal Resource C
 atalogue and Data Access services\, integrated with platform S3 object sto
 rage\n* Identity and Access Management - OpenID Connect (OIDC) for authent
 ication (OIDC) and User Managed Access (UMA) for authorization\, with inte
 grations for external identity providers\n\nWe provide an introduction to 
 each of the building blocks and the open source projects that underpin the
 ir development.\n\nAll of our work is available on GitHub (https://github.
