DESCRIPTION:In this presentation\, we show how GeoServer-Cloud has matured
 into a production ready\, cloud-native micro-services application. It has
already been successfully deployed in production for three major organizat
ions in their respective kubernetes environments.\n\nGeoServer-Cloud is a
spring-boot/spring-cloud based micro services application built on top of
GeoServer. The main goal of this implementation is to have an effective an
d easy way to scale the different services horizontally\, splitting GeoSer
ver geospatial services and API offerings into individually deployable com
ponents.\n\nAll the services communicate with each other via a messaging q
ueue. There’s no wait-time between configuration changes and their refle
ction across all services in the cluster\, nor the need to reload the appl
ications.\n\nThe last year has not only been spent hardening the code\, bu
t also a lot of emphasis has been put on the deployment procedures. In thi
s presentation we will explain how to deploy GeoServer-Cloud in a kubernet
es environment. We will showcase the official helm chart that can be used
to install it everywhere.\n\nGeoServer-Cloud allows per-service auto scali
ng and server resource dimensioning\, hence optimizing each service based
on its performance characteristics. We will discuss how to achieve good lo
ad balancing based on service metrics.
