DESCRIPTION:OSGeoLive is a self-contained bootable DVD\, USB thumb drive or
Virtual Machine based on Lubuntu\, that allows you to try a wide variety
of open source geospatial software without installing anything. It is comp
osed entirely of free software\, allowing it to be freely distributed\, du
plicated and passed around. It provides pre-configured applications for a
 range of geospatial use cases\, including storage\, publishing\, viewing\,
analysis and manipulation of data. It also contains sample datasets and d
ocumentation. OSGeoLive is an OSGeo project used in several workshops at F
OSS4Gs around\nthe world.\nThe OSGeoLive project has consistently and sust
ainably been attracting contributions from ~ 50 projects for over a decade
. Why has it been successful? What has attracted hundreds of diverse peopl
e to contribute to this project? How are technology changes affecting OSGe
oLive\, and by extension\, the greater OSGeo ecosystem? Where is OSGeoLive
heading and what are the challenges and opportunities for the future? How
is the project steering committee operating? In this presentation we will
cover current roadmap\, opportunities and challenges\, and why people are
  using OSGeoLive.

DESCRIPTION:MapComponents is a new component framework to quickly and easil
y build dynamic geospatial web apps. It includes React front-end component
s for all kinds of projects\, from small apps with a narrow and specific f
ocus up to complex geospatial suites for the web. Server-side components a
re also planned to aid the development of flexible backend services.\n\nMa
pComponents\n- is a modular framework to create tailored geospatial web ap
ps built upon modern webbrowser technology\n- can be used to visualise and
analyse geo data\n- can be used for desktop and mobile applications (onli
ne and offline\; progressive web apps (PWA))\n- provides independent compo
nents which can be combined into full-fledged geospatial web applications
 (e.g. dashboards\, WebGIS\, ...)\n- provides a catalog of components and e
xample applications\n- uses a flexible core which theoretically supports a
ny kind of mapping library (currently supported are MapLibre\, Mapbox GL J
S and OpenLayers)\n- is easily integrated into existing stacks\n- makes it
easy to rapidly design and deploy a map centric web app\n\n\nMapComponent
s is developed by WhereGroup GmbH and is available under the MIT license.\
n\nhttps://www.mapcomponents.org/\n\nWe will present the project\, with it
s current state and goals\, and will show practical examples.
