DESCRIPTION:QGIS turned twenty this year. The first lines of code were writ
ten in mid-February of 2002 and the first time the code compiled and ran\,
it could do one thing:\nConnect to a PostGIS database and draw a vector l
ayer.\n\nQuoting Gary Sherman - "The mythical man of QGIS that no one has
ever met":\nThis was the humble beginning of one of the most popular open-
source GIS applications. GRASS GIS is of course the granddaddy of open sou
rce GIS\, but the 20th birthday of QGIS is a testament to its longevity an
d commitment of all those who have made it what it is today.\n\nIn this ta
lk I'll share a walkthrough of the most game-changing features and events
that shaped QGIS and its community in the past 20 years making it one of t
he top ten most important C++ open-source projects [1] and an overall amaz
ing project to represent :)\n\nHappy Birthday QGIS!\n\n[1] https://www.pho
